Nick Janicki Scholarship

DGN Track Community:

We are proud to introduce the inaugural year of the Nick Janicki "Love of Track" Scholarship available to all Boys Track and Field Seniors.  The Janicki family has been kind enough to organize a Scholarship in Nick's name, who was lost far too soon.  Nick was a 2015 graduate of DGN and 4 year member of the track and field team.  Outside of an impressive throwing resume and multiple state qualifying performances, he was a tenacious competitor with a passion for throwing.  This was especially true in the Discus were he thrived.  His passion and love of the sport where qualities that stood out the most, hence the name of this scholarship.  We are honored to award this for the first time.

The application process is simple.  There is a one question essay that needs to completed in response the prompt "Why Track?".  This essay will be submitted in a google form provided at the bottom of this page.

The question is open ended and there are several ways candidates could respond but we are looking for athletes who are genuine, true, and passionate in their response.  We recommend you write your drafts in a separate document and when ready to submit, copy and paste the final draft into the google form provided below along with your name.   Candidates must submit their response by the end of day on Friday, May 3rd.  The Scholarship recipient will be announced with the Janicki family present at our team banquet on Wednesday, May 22nd.

Here is the Google From for final submission:  Link to Form

Thank you from the DGN Track Family!
