Downers Grove North Boys Cross Country 2014 – Meet Schedule and Directions

 

Monday, August 29^th – EIU Showdown - All Athletes Compete

Green Valley Forest Preserve, Woodridge

Green Valley is located ½ mile west of Route 53 on Hobson Rd.  From Hobson Rd., turn left (at big red barn), head south on Greene St.  The course is located at the first park entrance on your left.  (Driving time approximately = 20min, distance 8mi.)

 

Saturday, September 6^th  – St. Charles Leavey Invite – All Athletes Compete

Le Roy Oaks Forest Preserve, St. Charles

Take I-88 West towards Aurora, exit North Farnsworth Ave.  Merge onto CR - 77.  Turn left onto East Fabyan Pkwy.  Turn right onto South Randall Road.  Turn Left onto Dean Street.  Forest Preserve entrance will be on your right.  Signs will direct you where to park. Parking is different this year!  (Driving time approximately = 40min, distance 37mi.)  

 

Saturday, September 13^th – First to the Finish Invite – All Athletes Compete (12 go down the night before)

Detweiller Park, Peoria

Take I-55 South to I-80 South.  Continue south on I-80 to I-180.  Take I-180 South to Route 29.  Follow Route 29 to Detweiller Park, which will be on your right hand side.  The Illinois River will be on your left.  (Driving time approximately = 2 hours and 30min, distance 150mi.)

 

Thursday, September 18^th DGN Vs Hinsdale Central – All Athletes Compete

Saturday, September 20^st  – Minooka Flight Invite – All Athletes

Channahon Community Park

Take 355 south to to I-55 south.  Then continue on I-55 south and then take exit 250A to merge onto I-80 east.  Then take exit 127 for Houbolt Rd/Hollywood Rd.  Turn right onto Hollywood Rd.  Then turn right onto US-6/Channahon Rd/E Eames St..  Take the first right onto W McClintock Rd and the park should come up on your right.

 

Thursday, September 25^th – DGN vs York and LT – All Athletes Compete

            East End Park, Elmhurst

Take Route 83 North to North Ave. and turn right (heading east).  Continue on North Ave. to Berteau Ave. and turn right.  Proceed to Third St. and turn left.  Continue on Third St into the park.

 

Saturday, September 28^th  – ENTIRE TEAM Practice – Time 8AM

 

 

Thursday, October 2^nd – DGN vs Glenbard West vs Proviso West – All Athletes Compete

Camera Park – Glendale Heights

Take 355 north to North Ave.  Take IL-64/North Ave left (west) to Bloomingdale Rd.  Take a right on to Bloomingdale Rd, then left on E. Fullerton Ave.  Camera Park will come up on your left.  There is plenty of parking with the lot next to the course.

 

Saturday, October 4^th  – Locktoberfest Invite – All Athletes

Dellwood Park, Lockport

Take 355 south to IL-171/S. Archer Ave.  Turn right onto IL-171/S. Archer Ave and continue for about 5 miles through downtown Lockport.  Once you pass through downtown Lockport the Park will come up on the left.

 

Thursday, October 9^th – DGN v OPRF @ Green Valley Forest Preserve – All Athletes Compete.

Saturday, October 11^th – West Aurora Invite – All Athletes Compete

Marmion Academy

Take I-88 west to the Farnsworth Ave N exit.  Then continue on Fransworth Ave and then turn left on Butterfield Rd.  The school will come up on your right and follow signs for parking.

 

Saturday, October 18^th – West Suburban Silver Conference Meet hosted by York – All Athletes

East End Park, Elmhurst

Take Route 83 North to North Ave. and turn right (heading east).  Continue on North Ave. to Berteau Ave. and turn right.  Proceed to Third St. and turn left.  Continue on Third St into the park.

 

Tuesday, October 21^nd – F/S Racecar Invite – All F/S guys only – Buffalo Grove – All F/S Athletes Compete

            Willow Stream Park, Buffalo Grove, IL

Take I-355 north and continue onto to I-290W and IL-53 to Lake Cook Rd in Palatine.  Take the Lake Cook Rd exit from IL-53.  Continue on Lake Cook Rd east and then turn left (north) on to Arlington Heights Rd.  Take Arlington Heights Rd to Old Checker Rd, the park will be on your left. 

 

Saturday, October 25^th  – IHSA Regional – Top 12 only – Time TBA

            Katherine Legge Park

Katherine Legge Park is located on the east side of County Line Road in Hinsdale.  It is approximately 0.6 of a mile south of 55th St. and 0.6 miles north of Plainfield Rd.  Parking is limited at KLP and you will be ticketed for parking on County Line Rd.  There is parking located at Elm School, located one block west of the park on 60th St. and you can park on residential streets where parking is permitted.

 

 

Saturday, November 1^st  – IHSA Sectional – Top 12  only – Time TBA

            Midlothian Meadows, Markham, IL

Take I-294 south to Cicero Ave.  Continue on Cicero Ave heading south and turn left onto 147^th St.  Then turn right on to Pulaski Rd and the park will be on the right.

 

 

 

Saturday, November 4^th – IHSA STATE MEET – Top 12 only

Detweiller Park, Peoria

 

 

 

 

**All Thursday meets begin at 4:30pm.  The race order is as follows - Sophomore, Varsity, Freshman.**

 

 

Other Critical Dates

 

Saturday, August 30^th – Worlds Worst Carwash @ Culvers – 11:00am – 2pm

            Athletes will need to bring a towel to help dry cars and we will need some people to bring hoses, buckets, soap, etc…

 

Friday, October 17^th – Cross Country Banquet

American Legion

Take Saratoga north from Ogden and the Legion is just past Doerhoefer Park on the left.

 

Cross Country Awards Night – TBA – Should be early November!
